Jeff LaTulippe

Co-Founder

Jeff is responsible for all aspects of DIRT's operations. He began writing the business plan for DIRT with no prior experience in the restaurant industry except for a few months as a busboy in high school. Prior to taking the entrepreneurial plunge with DIRT, Jeff worked in finance, helping executives in various industries to execute their strategic visions.

Jeff's passion for DIRT and his desire to maintain a healthy lifestyle are based on his own personal struggles with weight loss and a family history plagued by extremely unhealthy lifestyles. After tipping the scales at 208 pounds at the age of 20, Jeff lost 50 pounds over the next decade after embracing a healthy diet and exercise regimen. This drastic change is what inspired him to create DIRT.

Matt Ernst

Co-Founder

Matt works on all aspects of DIRT’s strategic direction and execution. A life-long entrepreneur, Matt was the founder and CEO of Amentra, an IT systems integrator that became one of the fastest growing privately held companies in North America as recognized by Inc. and Deloitte & Touche. After eight years of rapid growth, Amentra was sold to Red Hat.

JJ

Director of Operations

JJ oversees all unit-level operations for DIRT. Prior to joining us, JJ worked in the restaurant industry for over twenty years in various roles with both privately held companies and public restaurant groups such as Brinker International and Bloomin’ Brands.

While with Carrabba’s Italian Grill, JJ earned numerous accolades for his innovative management methods, including an “Emerging Leader” invitation for Senior Leadership and Mentoring, a Certified Training award (one of only 35 such awards offered company-wide), and the 2015 Large Business of the Year by the Apex Chamber of Commerce for community involvement, employee engagement, and his team’s contribution to the growth of the city. Most recently, he was Director of Operations at Happy + Hale, a North Carolina-based healthy fast casual concept, where he laid the foundation for their aggressive plan of opening 20 locations by 2020.

JJ lives in Miami Beach with his wife and two children. He is passionate about healthy living and educating the community about nutrition and physical activity.

THE DIRT ON DIRT.

My favorite restaurant in Miami. There truly is something for everybody here whether you are paleo, vegan, a macro counter, or just all around healthy. Especially great spot to bring people with varying tastes and diets. The only thing as consistent as the food is the service. From ownership down to everyday staff you truly feel like they care about the customer and also that they love what they do. Best in class restaurant in this space not just in Miami but in all of the US and Canada. They have set the bar. Will continue to be a loyal customer.

chris / nyc

Overall, this restaurant is 5 stars from the atmosphere to the staff. Located in Downtown Miami, this place stands out as an establishment where you can have great food with people that you want to have a good time with. There isn't much seating inside, but there is plenty of seating outside for large groups of people. I ordered the matcha protein pancakes and I immediately fell in love. Dirt feels like a home away from home. When I went to this restaurant, my friends and I spent about 3 hours there. That's how comfortable this place is. I highly recommend parking in a garage so you don't have to worry about a parking ticket if you stay too long while enjoying yourself.
